We are so excited to be rebranding our business as US; Aric & Angie!

When you are so passionate about something you want to make sure it comes across in the way you intend  it to, this is what branding is all about; showing your style! Up until now we have been operating under Aric Becker Photography, which works just fine, but this business for the last few years has been more about us, and not just Aric. Sure our clients know they get both of us, but why not just say it! WE are here for YOU!

This has taken us awhile to put all the pieces together, to decided to shift away the name everyone knows, and show who we truly are. Taking a leap with all four feet!

So please check out our newly rebranded site AricandAngie.com

We also launched a new facebook fan page we would be honored if you would LIKE it HERE

P.S. Since it is Valentines Day we are starting a contest in honor of our branding and LOVE of weddings. We are doing a Big Give Away…one free wedding to a lucky couple. You can find the details HERE. Please share with all your family and friends.

P.S.S. Thank you to the fabulous Jen Mcken Photo for taking our pictures!!!

Why are we in this business?

Why are your wedding photos so important us?

Because after all the guests are gone and the decorations are put away, these are all that are left. Photos of your wedding day are the only remembrance of the day you said “I do” , to the love of your life that will never be gone. They tell the story from the beginning to the end, they show every emotion of your day, even the ones you didn’t know you had until you see them. They spark the excitement that you felt that very special day, all over again when you see them for the first time. They also renew those feelings of love and joy every time you pull your wedding book out.

Your wedding photos are irreplaceable memories that can be shared with generations to come, I know I love to look back at my grandparents, while Grandma is telling me their love story for about the twentieth time, always with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye.

This very thing drives our passion for ensuring you get your entire day documented in photos, as when we look back on ours; yes we cry, but not because we are remembering a day just like we had envisioned, rather because we can’t believe we have a few snapshots that we were taken by a family member. A young couple with a young family, who were paying for their wedding on their own, who didn’t realize the value or the power of photographs. We hardly ever pull them out, we have shared them once or twice with our kids, and the story is always the same; we wish we would have saved money to have spent on our photos. Even with our wedding itself being just a small justice of the peace ceremony and a reception at a family member’s home, but even still the photos are no reflection of what we were feeling for each other on that day, or how happy we were to say “I do” and make our family complete. Hindsight is always 20/20 and we wish we knew a little than what we do now.

Family photos fill the walls of our home, but you won’t see a single one of the beginning of our lives together. Not even a 4×6 in a frame on the table, we keep them locked up tight in a box in the garage.

You never want to regret anything in your life, and if we could go back, we would. When prioritizing your day, think beyond the day, beyond the first year, beyond your memories of the day. Share your story of love with each other and generations to come, with a smile on your face and tears of joy in your eyes every time you pull out your wedding album.

Our wedding and life experiences has given us a different perspective on wedding photography which has developed our philosophy and pricing for our business.

These are our wedding photos, they are scanned and we don’t have the best scanner :) . We are glad we have something and appreciate our family for what they did do!

These are the products that we believe help us deliver the best to our clients.

First and foremost Madera wedding books are by far our best friend, these books bring the whole wedding day together in one beautifully bound book, that can be viewed for generations to come. We did a whole blog post on Madera Books Here.

Moo Cards are the cutest little cards, and different too. We use these for our business cards while we are playing the slide show during the wedding reception. Their packaging is fantastic too, cute little boxes each with a different color inside.

We use H-B Photo Packaging exclusively for our packaging to deliver their custom prints. They have the greatest colors to choose from and the possibilities are endless with these guys. We even have our logo imprinted right on to them! H-B has given us a discount code to share with all of our great readers. You can use the code: aricbecker on everything on their site for 10% off, the code is good till August 1st so act fast. Just add the code when checking out.

For our business cards we use Plasma Design, we can’t say enough about these guys, and how many compliments we get on our cards. They just add another element to our value. Their customer service is top notch, and they will even help with your design for free.

Last, but certainly not least, White House Custom Colour. We use these guys for all of our DVD Cases(for now, DVD’s might become a thing of the past. More on this coming later), they allow you to customize the cases with a photo. This has been a WOW factor every time we hand one to a client. We also use them for all of our printing needs, their customer service and quality of products are out of this world! You can check out White House for free and they will send 5 8×10 prints so you can see the awesome quality.

These pictures are from their site.

Vendors we can’t get enough of!

Shooting a wedding is sort of like being a parent, in that you have eyes and ears everywhere throughout the day, you over hear conversations, you see the behind the scenes stuff, you are watching how the whole day is coming together and how all the vendors are making that possible for the bride and groom.

We have some favorite vendors that we have worked with, that are particularly wonderful, not only in the product they deliver, but also in the relationship they put forth with the client and other vendors.

Venues:

We love, love, love Chambers Bay Golf Course, in University Place, WA,  not only are they a fabulous venue, but also provide some mighty great food too!

Of course our favorite has to be Lanikuhonua, on Oahu in Hawaii. Translated it means “where Heaven meets the Earth”, and they are not kidding!  A beautiful place for a wedding, party, or really any occasion.

Cakes/cupcakes/desserts:  Burning Cupcakes, out of Tacoma, WA, is the best by far. Not only are the displays fantastic, but the desserts are out of this world!

Music/DJ services: Music De-lite, out of Olympia, WA, are not only very professional, but also super fun, and keep the party rolling!

Officiant: If you are looking for the non traditional, knows how to crack a joke and loosen people up kind of person to perform your ceremony, Jeremy is your guy!

We look forward to working with these vendors and other equally great ones in the future.

The book company Madera Books is the brain child and baby of fellow photographer Michael Norwood From NYC. Check him out, his work is awesome!!!

I first saw a couple tweets about the company and than saw a few pictures of the books. They looked amazing. So I contacted Madera about more info. When I received the info and read the letter from Michael why he started the company, I couldn’t wait to order our first book!!!

So here is the first book we ordered. It was our great friends Wilson & Jenna’s book from their sweet wedding in Hawaii.

The leather feels and smells so good!!!

We love the option to emboss couples names on the cover or spine. The pages lay flat and with the flush mount the book is flawless.

These books will last a lifetime and be a great family heirloom. They come with a sweet case to keep it protected and looking good.

We did get to spend time with some family and an old friend while were there though, which made the trip even better!

Since being home, it has been editing photos, putting together slide shows, and designing an album…..all in preparation for Jenna and Wilson’s premiere party, coming up next weekend!!

Look for blog posts of Jenna and Wilson’s wedding and the WPPI conference coming soon….until then please enjoy some of the pictures from paradise.

These were shot with my iPhone!

It has been a long time coming. A new blog! A place where I can be proud to post images of my awesome clients. My previous blog took forever to update…I won’t bore you with the details. Which made it to much like work and I totally neglected it. So one of many resolutions of mine for this year was to blog on a consistent basis. After finishing a little makeover on the website, I turned my attention to the blog. First, thank you to Lawrence Chan! He has helped me a ton in my business and offers blog themes for photographers. Lawrence is the man!!! So now I have this beautiful new home. I will be posting about all kinds of stuff ranging from current shoots, family trips and trying to help out other photographers.

Also, the new blog is iPad, iPhone friendly for all your mobile devices!!!

Please leave a comment. Would love to hear what you think about the new blog or if you have any questions or suggestions on upcoming posts.

A post without a photo is just boring. So here is a image from a wedding we shot on New Years day. Will be blogging this shortly.
