Finally got some rest in today. Visited what Dannielle calls her new home, San Diego State University.

Had lunch at a great Mexican restaurant called Las Pinatas.

Visited a mission in Old Town, checked out the downtown area, and went to Qualcomm Stadium, where the Chargers were practicing. Derrick would have loved this, got some good pics for him though.

Also got some beach time in at Ocean Beach, where Taylor found some great shells and dug up a clam with her bare hands. She was pretty proud of herself.

Highlight of the day had to be Pinkberry though. Salted carmel…yum!!

These are the products that we believe help us deliver the best to our clients.

First and foremost Madera wedding books are by far our best friend, these books bring the whole wedding day together in one beautifully bound book, that can be viewed for generations to come. We did a whole blog post on Madera Books Here.

Moo Cards are the cutest little cards, and different too. We use these for our business cards while we are playing the slide show during the wedding reception. Their packaging is fantastic too, cute little boxes each with a different color inside.

We use H-B Photo Packaging exclusively for our packaging to deliver their custom prints. They have the greatest colors to choose from and the possibilities are endless with these guys. We even have our logo imprinted right on to them! H-B has given us a discount code to share with all of our great readers. You can use the code: aricbecker on everything on their site for 10% off, the code is good till August 1st so act fast. Just add the code when checking out.

For our business cards we use Plasma Design, we can’t say enough about these guys, and how many compliments we get on our cards. They just add another element to our value. Their customer service is top notch, and they will even help with your design for free.

Last, but certainly not least, White House Custom Colour. We use these guys for all of our DVD Cases(for now, DVD’s might become a thing of the past. More on this coming later), they allow you to customize the cases with a photo. This has been a WOW factor every time we hand one to a client. We also use them for all of our printing needs, their customer service and quality of products are out of this world! You can check out White House for free and they will send 5 8×10 prints so you can see the awesome quality.

These pictures are from their site.

Vendors we can’t get enough of!

Shooting a wedding is sort of like being a parent, in that you have eyes and ears everywhere throughout the day, you over hear conversations, you see the behind the scenes stuff, you are watching how the whole day is coming together and how all the vendors are making that possible for the bride and groom.

We have some favorite vendors that we have worked with, that are particularly wonderful, not only in the product they deliver, but also in the relationship they put forth with the client and other vendors.

Venues:

We love, love, love Chambers Bay Golf Course, in University Place, WA,  not only are they a fabulous venue, but also provide some mighty great food too!

Of course our favorite has to be Lanikuhonua, on Oahu in Hawaii. Translated it means “where Heaven meets the Earth”, and they are not kidding!  A beautiful place for a wedding, party, or really any occasion.

Cakes/cupcakes/desserts:  Burning Cupcakes, out of Tacoma, WA, is the best by far. Not only are the displays fantastic, but the desserts are out of this world!

Music/DJ services: Music De-lite, out of Olympia, WA, are not only very professional, but also super fun, and keep the party rolling!

Officiant: If you are looking for the non traditional, knows how to crack a joke and loosen people up kind of person to perform your ceremony, Jeremy is your guy!

We look forward to working with these vendors and other equally great ones in the future.

Oh the places you’ll go and the people you’ll meet….

We always say you never know who you will come across when you are out and this is exactly the case with Emily and Jim.

We were out at Chambers Bay, shooting one of our senior models for this year, and we see from behind some umbrellas a camera poking out, well little did we know that Jim’s parents had set up a little spying area to catch Jim’s proposal to Emily on film!! It was the cutest thing we have ever seen, they had chairs set up, a camera, and champagne for after. So when Emily said yes, Aric went over and asked if he could take a picture for them, of course they were thrilled, we sent them the photo, they loved it, and booked us for their engagement shoot!!

We found the cutest little apple orchard in University Place, and ended up at their favorite spot and Aric’s Chambers Bay. We had a blast talking about all the stuff we had in common, like golf, church, working in middle schools, etc.

We are bummed that we won’t be able to shoot their actual wedding, as we were already booked. Just a crazy example of how we are never put in a place by chance, we just need to keep our eyes opened to the possibilities!

Princess for a day!

This is what we all hope to feel like on our wedding day (ok well maybe only the girls). That is just what Erin wanted and that’s what she got, from the crown on her head and her dress, to the tiny Prince Charming and Cinderella that added to the cake table. Never mind the fact that when we went walking around to take pictures after the ceremony that every little girl we saw, and yes even some boys, were in awe of the princess who was right before there eyes! It really was the cutest thing I have seen at a wedding and Erin was such a good sport about the whole thing, playing right along.

My Favorite of the Day!!

iPhone | 1 of my favorite things!

July 12th, 2011

It is no surprise to those that know me…I love Apple products. I bought my first MacBook Pro in 2004, would have been earlier but had to save up a little while first. So when Apple announced the iPhone in 2007 I was like a five year old waiting for Christmas to come. I drove [...]

It is no surprise to those that know me…I love Apple products. I bought my first MacBook Pro in 2004, would have been earlier but had to save up a little while first. So when Apple announced the iPhone in 2007 I was like a five year old waiting for Christmas to come. I drove Angie nuts with every rumor and none stop chatter about the phone, she just doesn’t get gadgets like I do :) . I have had each version of the iPhone and with each new one it gets better and better!!! So with the rumors of the new version in September, I once again can’t wait to see what Uncle Steve puts out.

We also have a tumbler page where we post a bunch of random iPhone pictures, most come from instagram.

In the mean time here are a few pictures from my iPhone 4 and reasons why I love it and will probably never own any other phone. Most of these were taking with the instagram app.

First being a photographer it has to take great pictures…and it does. Since it has a 5-Megapixel camera and takes HD video, I don’t ever take a point & shoot camera with.

Couple of my favorite apps for pictures & video:

Instagram

Best Camera

iMovie

Other great apps:

Facebook of course, let’s be friends!

Twitter, you can find me HERE

Starbucks, it’s used a lot to pay for all my Carmel Macchiato’s

Than there are business reasons why I love the iPhone. With apps like Dropbox, I can send out documents, brochures, contracts to anyone anytime. Evernote is a great place for to do lists, idea lists, there are endless ways to use it. Square to take payments easily and anywhere. There are plenty of others, I have four screens full. If you want to know about others, let me know in the comments section.

Here is a look at my home screen. In the middle is my photo album which I try and keep organized. I love the geo tagging of the photos and seeing all the places we have been.

Lastly some recent favorites of mine!!

When Katie and Mike asked us for a really cool spot for their engagement session and that they liked the beach. We thought what better place than Seaside, OR (at least for here in the Pacific Northwest)!! Katie loved the idea so we planned a day at the beach. We had the best time and got some really great shots, then hit up a little Italian restaurant named Angelino’s for dinner before heading home. So excited for their wedding next month!

We walked around town a little before heading to the beach. Had some ice cream, even rode some rides!!!

Katie’s favorite!!

Thanks for such a great day Katie & Mike, look forward to hanging out with you guys again soon. Also, thanks to our girls for tagging along and helping out!

Hawaii Wedding | Wilson & Jenna

Lanikuhonua…Where heaven meets the earth. I can’t think of a better place for the union of two people to take place. We were honored to be asked to accompany Jenna, Wilson, and the rest of their gang to Hawaii for their wedding!
From the first moment we met with Jenna and Wilson, we knew that this was going to be a great match for both of us. We had so much in common and both share that something special feeling about Hawaii.
After spending the day in Portland with them for their engagement shoot, we knew we were in for some serious fun!

Last month we set off for a week in paradise to capture as many moments for them as possible. The fun started with an evening of dancing and laughs at The Pearl, for their bachelor/bachelorette party, which lasted well into the next morning. The next day we all meet at Lanikuhonua, the venue for the wedding & reception, for rehearsal. Here we were able to meet the other members of Team Baisa (bridal party and parents)! Next we were off to Just Tacos in Ko’lina for some great food and a great time with family and friends.
Then came the wedding day, so nice that the rain stayed away. We spent the day at JW Marriott getting ready for the ceremony. The time for the big event finally came and it was absolutely beautiful! The party after wards was filled with food, music, and lots of dancing!
I have to say that we were truly blessed beyond words to be included in this wedding. For someone to trust you enough to fly you out so you can capture their special day, a day they will never have again….that is bigger than words for sure.
